Belfast has been the capital city of Northern Ireland since 1921. A lively city with a vibrant nightlife, it is home to the world’s largest dry dock, impressive Windsor House, Victorian and Edwardian architecture and even a zoo!
Dublin is the cosmopolitan capital of the Republic of Ireland and offers an abundance of museums, Georgian architecture, thriving nightlife and over 1,000 traditional pubs.
Day 1: Hop on Hop off, Titanic…
A city with an infamous history, Belfast has become a lively, friendly and welcoming place for the visitor, with a rich history and culture. You can hop-on and off as many times as you like aboard this open-top double-decker bus. There are 16 stops and the entire route takes approximately 1 hour. The bus departs every 15 – 60 minutes from each stop. Tickets are valid for 24 hours from first use.
From the first talks of building an unsinkable ship to her construction by Harland and Wolff and subsequent launch in early 20th-century Belfast, to the tragic events that unfolded on 15th April 1912, the Titanic Belfast unveils the all-too-short history of the notorious ship, step by step. Highlights include the Ocean Exploration Centre, with live links to modern under-water explorations; a display of artifacts pulled from the wreckage of the Titanic; and the luxury Titanic Banqueting Hall.

Day 2: Carrick a Rede / Giant’s Causeway
Spanning a chasm eighty feet deep is the famous Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, its construction once consisted of a single rope hand rail and widely spaced slats which the fishermen would traverse across with boxes of salmon caught off the island. This was one of several seasonal salmon netting locations around the coast, others were at Kenbane, Portmoon and Black Rock. On the main road above Carrick a Rede you will see the old Ice House on the right hand side of the road as you climb up the hill, this is where ice gathered in winter would be stred to pack with the fish before it was shipped to Belfast.
Flanked by the wild North Atlantic Ocean on one side and a landscape of dramatic cliffs on the other, for centuries the Giant’s Causeway has inspired artists, stirred scientific debate and captured the imagination of all who see it.
Experience the Giant’s Causeway for yourself. Visit the world-famous basalt columns with one of our knowledgeable tour guides or pick up an audio guide and go at your own pace. Climb the Shepherd’s Steps and take a hike along the cliff-top trail for bird’s eye views of the causeway coastline – famed world-wide for its beauty.
Bushmills the village is best known as the location of the Old Bushmills Distillery, founded in 1608, which is the oldest licensed distillery in the world. The distillery’s range includes the Bushmills Original and Black Bush blends and the 10, 12, 16, and 21 year old Bushmills Single Malts. To celebrate the 400th anniversary, the Distillery released a unique whiskey called the “1608” which included crystal malt. The Distillery draws its water, not from the River Bush itself but from a tributary known as Saint Columbs Rill.

Day 3: Optional Day trip to Dublin
Boyne Valley, an area rich in heritage and history. Places to visit include Brú na Bóinne (Newgrange & Knowth), Hill of Slane, Hill of Tara, Monasterboice, Old Mellifont Abbey, Bective Abbey, Trim Castle, Loughcrew, Fourknocks, Kells, St Ciarán’s Holy Well and much more.
While reknowned at the seat of the high kings of Ireland, the importance of the Hill of Tara stretches back to the late Stone Age when a passage-tomb was constructed there. Significant site containing ancient monuments and the reputed seat of the High Kings of Ireland. The Hill was once the seat of power in Ireland with over 140 kings said to have reigned over the country until the 6th century and to a lesser extent until the 12th century.
Monasterboice (Mainistir Bhuithe) is an interesting monastic site near Drogheda in County Louth. The impressive ruins include a large cemetery, two churches, one of the tallest round towers in Ireland and two of the tallest and best high crosses.
